Arise and build! That was God's charge to Nehemiah and the community that rebuilt the walls around Jerusalem. Could it be what He is directing our community to do as well? Building is a team effort that requires both spiritual discernment and practical steps, but in His timing, and done His way--the work can't be stopped.
Grab a cup of coffee and listen in as Aeron and Tracy Brown discuss some of the ways they are sensing God's direction for our local communities. There may be more questions than answers at the moment, but we are pressing into His heart and know that unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain!

Life can be incredibly confusing at times. But in Jesus we can face life's perplexities and NOT be in despair. Giving up our right to understand the confusion and perplexities of life is difficult, but it's only when we let go of trying to make everything make sense that we can truly experience the peace that PASSES all human understanding.
Grab a cup of coffee and listen in as we talk about finding rest for our souls right smack in the middle of life's chaos and confusion.

When you think about the Church as a whole--in your community and beyond--what do you see? What do you long to see? That's the topic we are exploring in this episode with Aeron Brown and Nick In't Hout. There are so many amazing things happening in our local expression of the Body of Christ, and also many areas where there is much room to grow and learn.
Aeron and Nick are both spiritual leaders in our local community and always add tremendously to the conversation, so grab a cup of coffee and join us around the table as we tackle this thought provoking topic!
To learn more about Aeron, check out his website here or reach out to him on instagram. To find out more about Nick, you can reach out to him on facebook or instagram.

Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you...
These are the first words of a brilliant prayer/meditation attributed to St Teresa of Avila. And that’s what this episode is all about: finding—and staying—in that place of undisturbed rest.
We hope to be back to a semi-regular posting schedule for most of the rest of the year—a couple of times each month or so at any rate. Our next episode will be our first new community conversation of the year so you won't want to miss it. But for right now, grab a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, and enjoy a few simple moments contemplating the joy of finding contentment and rest in every season.

"Knowing You, Jesus, knowing You. There is no greater thing ..."
As I sat down to summarized this episode, immediately the words of this old-ish song by Graham Kendrick came to mind:
"You're my all, You're the best, You're my joy, my righteousness. And I love You, Lord ...
"Now my heart's desire is to know You more. To be found in You, and be known as Yours."
That about sums it up. I have no greater desire. There is nothing I value more. And THAT is what this week's episode is all about—in both the devotional content being shared, and in the return to the heart of the presence driven life. Really, it is a reminder of why this podcast exists in the first place.
So, yes, this episode still takes another Few Minutes in Philippians but this time as the Spirit leads rather than following the order of the book or any of my thoughts or plans. While we will no longer be releasing a chapter a week of the book (at least not at this time), if you do want to read the rest of it, it is, of course, still available on Amazon in both paperback and kindle versions.
But above all … lean into Him. “Knowing You, Jesus, knowing You, there is no greater thing.” Now, always forever, knowing Him is the greatest treasure of all❤️

" And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. "
What a powerful statement! Paul said EVERYTHING that happened to him help to spread the Good News. Which is crazy because everything that happened to Paul was a lot - including a lot that definitely did NOT seem conducive to spreading the Gospel. This week we are taking a look at this amazing verse and its application to our lives here and now This one challenges me!
As a reminder, these bite-sized episodes of encouragement are taken from A Few Minutes in Philippians (Cindy’s new devotional book). Since the book isn't yet available in an audible version, we are releasing several chapters on the podcast.
If you don't want to wait for the next episode to get the next chapter, the book is currently available on Amazon in both paperback and, as of this week, in kindle versions.
